If A Friend Throws Up As A Result Of You Throwing Up, Is That A Sympathy Or An Empathy Barf?

I doubt it's either. More likely it's a result of a visceral reaction to the smell of vomit. Or you both had bad food.

I would have to say that it isn't either, but because the friend has smelled the vomit, and the nose is amazing, it knows what that is and reacts to it automatically. It takes a cast iron stomach to not get sick from seeing and smelling that.

Assume no smell.. My friend almost vomitted after nearly did. No smell, just chain reaction. I argue it is empathetic because he is essentially experiencing what I am.
It could be, or a weak stomach, or just the sight that does this for him, I do not think it is empathy.
I think it is a reactive barf. Honestly, i was in a fast food restaurant one day, and some guy barfed, and it was all i could do, not to do the same, I had to leave.

It is a gag reflex to what you,see,hear, and smell it is common for those with weak stomachs to react to the sound of gagging,and the automatic reflex is to gag,once you have heard it,it is also common since the weakness is in your stomach to automatically,involuntarily do the same.it is involuntary reflexes.
