There are two types of controls available in MS Excel:
a. ActiveX control
b. Forms control
Both types of controls provide some properties through which a value can be selected or a task can be performed.
Active X Controls:
The available ActiveX controls are: Check box is used for selection of more than one value. A value can be selected by marking it as "checked". Text box is used to write text, it is usually used where description is required. Command button is a button that triggers an action when it is clicked. Option button or radio button is used to select one choice from a set of choices. Label is used as a title for a control or a form. List box contains a list of items that can be selected. Combo box has a dual feature either you can select a value from the list or you can type value in the box. Spin button can be linked with a cell or a text box. To increase value click the "UP" arrow or to decrease value click the "DOWN" arrow. Scroll bar is used to roll through a series of values when scroll arrows are clicked or scroll box is dragged.
Forms Control:
Label, Button, scroll bars, check box, option button, combo box controls are also available in forms control. However some controls properties needs to be set. To set properties of check box, click the Format Control button. Other controls are Group box, List box, Spinner.
