Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The team which has fielded the most players in a single England international is London side Arsenal.

The Gunners had seven representatives from their club on the field in a game against Italy in nineteen thirty four.  Coincedently, the match was held at the then home of Arsenal, Highbury!

The seven Arsenal players that day were, Frank Moss, George Male, Eddie Hapgood, Wilf Copping, Ray Bowden, Ted Drake and Cliff Basten.

Seven Arsenal men also took part in an England versus France friendly at Wembley, a game which England lost two nothing.  Only this time, the Gunners men were representing not only England but the opposition too!

The Arsenal players for England that day were goal keeper David Seamen, defenders Lee Dixon, Tony Adams and Martin Keown, and lining up for the French team were striker Nicolas Anelka, who scored the two French goals, and also midifelders Emmanuel Petit and Patrick Veira, who replaced the goal scoring Anelka in the second half.
