I Found A Takamine Guitar Model #PT 106, Does Anyone Know Anything About Them? What Are They Worth ?
I found a guitar in a garbage dumpster. There is nothing wrong with it, I have looked on the computer for what it is worth and can't find out anything really. It is a 6 string, Takamine model # pt 106, but on the Internet it also says a different model # than that. It says it is a EF-381C. But those have 12 strings not 6. Can some one tell me something about this guitar ??? It also has a little box on top by the neck, it is like an equalizer or something.

Takamine doesn't make them anymore but it's worth at least a $150.00. If it's in good condition.

I have one also. The story on them is Tak amine never exported this model. All the info I could find on line is in Japanese. Military people bought them in Japan and then brought them to the states. I was told they sold for around $900 with Tak amine hard case. Hope this helps. Lyle

This looks identical to my guitar. I bought mine new for £475 about ten years ago. I keep going into music shops around the UK and have yet to find another guitar I would rather have!
There is no paper certificate pasted inside and so I don't know the Model or Type.
There is a small paper pasted deep inside (not obvious with the serial No. 99080738.
