Is Christmas A Christian Day?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Christmas was originally a pagan feast for the Winter solstice in many different religions and cultures, and was retconned to celebrate the birth of Jesus after the advent of Christianity.

Christmas as we celebrate it is a mix of both (nativity scenes are Christian, Christmas trees are pagan) plus a healthy dose of commercialism. Many non-Christians celebrate Christmas without the religious aspect of it.

      Exactly Alienor.

That, plus religious scholars think that December 25 isnt even the day that the biblical "Jesus" character was born.
