Skin cancer is the occurence of a malignant growth in the skin. The common types of skin cancer are melanoma, basal skin cancer and squamous cell cancer. Skin cancer develops in the epidermis more often than not and that is the reason it is usually detected in the early stages. Unlike other cancers, like that of stomach, liver and pancreas, skin cancer is not fatal and patients can survive with typical cancer treatment like surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. Skin cancer may be caused by any of the following factors:
    1. Exposure to UV radiation.
    2. Wounds and burns that are not treated in time.
    3. Presence of HPV (Human Papilloma Cirus) in the body increases the risk of squamous cell carcinoma.
    4. Genetic [predisposition.
