Where Is The Suez Canal And How Long Is It?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

It's in Egypt, it is an artificial waterway connecting the Mediterranean Sea to the Red Sea, between Cairo and the Sinai Peninsula.

It's 101 miles / 163 km long.  The canal was constructed between 1799 and 1869, and is wide enough to allow two-way traffic -- minimum 60 metres wide.

The canal has been the subject of much political wrangling, given its strategic regional importance.
