How Do You Care For Fresh Cut Roses?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The present of roses is common gift but they have a short life span. To prolong their life one need to take proper care for them.

The rose care started at the time when received or at the time they are cut. Never lie them down for hours on a hard stiff board try to cut them from the lower edge and instantly care for them. To begin with start removing the leaves that will fall under the water line when placed in a container, pot or vase. The leaves of roses can easily be removed by using gentle hands.

Once the unwanted leaves are removed; put the rose stems below water in the sink and cut one inch from the base of the stems. Put the rose into the vase without letting the remaining stem dry and advance to the next rose.

Once all roses are placed in to little warm water in the vase then leave them in a calm cool room for two to three hours this will help to prolong the rose life. Be sure to place them beyond the direct sunlight and from heat of the fire. Cut flowers or roses need regular water.

With the help of these guidelines one can extend the life of roses for a couple of days.
