What Happened To The Bald Knight In Aesop's Fable?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

A knight was very vain, especially about his thick curly hair. Then he lost all his hair through an illness. He could not bear to show himself in public without his lovely hair, so he had a fine, curly wig made, which looked exactly the same. He kept his secret for some time. Then one day he went out hunting with his friends. As he was riding through the forest, his wig caught on a branch and came off. The knight was seen to be completely bald. Everybody burst out laughing; not because his bald head looked so funny, but because he had always made such a fuss about his wonderful hair. After a moment the knight began to laugh to; as he saw the funny side, he laughed more and more, and realised that there was no point in trying to hide his imperfections. He resolved to stop being vain, and never wore his wig again.
