How Do You Knit A Harry Potter Scarf?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

There are five houses in the Hogwarts School including Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. Depending on which house you choose colours will have to be selected accordingly. They are scarlet and gold, dark green and silver, blue and bronze and black and yellow respectively. You can also buy material online at Patternworks if the required colour is unavailable. Remember that the scarves are supposed to be bigger than normal. They should measure seventy inches long and eight inches wide. The procedure follows. Seventy stitches of the darker colour should be cast. The marker has to be slipped onto the needle before the ring is joined. After knitting for twenty two rows the lighter colour yarn should be tied around the original darker shade of yarn towards the inside. Knit this for twenty two rows. In this way alternate the shades till the end result is eleven dark stripes and nine light ones.
