Unexplained weight gain is associated with under active thyroid gland. Fatigue and restlessness can also be signs of this conditions. Other signs are hoarse voice, pale skin, constipation, depression, brittle fingernails and hairs, puffy nose, muscle ache, increased sensitivity to cold. Treatment is done by taking thyroid hormone.
