contributed the error-correction method called CIRC.
Philips Contribution:
Philips contributed the general manufacturing process and Eight-to-Fourteen Modulation (EFM). Manufacturing Process was based on video Laserdisc technology, However, EFM made CD worthable by offers both a long playing time and a high resilience against disc defects such as scratches and fingerprints.
