To repel moths without using chemicals, cedarwood is excellent. Keep chunks of cedarwood in all of your closets and trunks to keep moths out. Another excellent method is to mix together 1 cup rosemary, 1 cup vetiver, 1 cup pennyroyal, and 5 whole bruised bay leaves. Divide and tie into cloth pouches to hang in your closets. Camphor and wormwood are also good moth repellents.

It is advisable not to use cedar along with pennyroyal, as the scents clash and create a disagreeable odour.

Another method is to soak blotting paper in a mixture of equal parts of turpentine and oil of camphor and lay the paper on the floor of attics or closets. This really works, but should only be employed if you are storing things and won't be using them soon, as the scent will cling to clothing.
