Explain The Concepts ; LAN, WAN, EDI And Modems?

LAN means Local Area Network, which is a network that is connected in a local area such as a college campus.

WAN means Wide Area Network, and is like LAN but a much wider spectrum.

EDI mean Electronic Data Interchange and is a way of exchanging documents documents between companies. This is something that is an alternative to the well known FAX.

Modems are a device that are used to distribute and receive internet signals. There are modems that simple help your computer receive an internet connection, and there are Wireless Routers that do pretty much the same thing, but send out a wireless signal for an internet connection.
