I would say start off like Christofer  said and if you do get somewhere in it maybe then your family will come around but I must say they are just trying to help in their own way a lot of young people have the same dream but a lot of them do not make it and then they are left with nothing so maybe sing on the side while you finish your education that way if you do not make it you have something to fall back on hope this helps and good luck
