What Colour Attracts Mosquitoes?

It is believed that the colour blue tends to attract mosquitoes. The mosquito is an associate of the family Culicidae; these insects normally have a duo of scaled wings.

They generally have a slender body, a pair of halters along with long legs. The females of nearly all Mosquitoes species suck blood of other animals. They differ in size but are hardly greater than 15 mm. Mosquitoes usually weigh anywhere between 2 to 2.5 mg. A solitary flight can last about four to five minutes.

It is said that Mosquitoes emerged approximate 170 million years ago during Jurassic period.
Mosquitoes are mainly nectar feeders with only the females wanting a meal of blood, apart from the Toxorhynchites, which never consume blood. Female mosquitoes generally suck the blood of all mammals, counting humans as well.
