I am a dancer. And I've been dancing for 8 years. How old are you? You shouldn't go on pointe younger than 11 or 12 because your bones are still growing. You need to make sure your strong enough or you will seriously injure yourself. If you need to work on technique, then that means barre work and learning the basics. Like getting your toes pointed better, getting deeper plies, higher kicks, high arrabesques, MUCH MUCH MUCH more strength in your legs, back, ankles, and core, being more graceful, more flexibility, working to your full potential, and just being ready to start the new challenge. Only 2 years in ballet, -I wouldn't start for maybe one more or two more years. Most ballet schools put children on pointe too early or if there not ready yet and they end up hurting themselves. I would seriously think about doing ballet longer and making sure you have more strength and technique. Because if you don't have technique, then you can't become and better at ballet. Technique is the key to everything in ballet. Just a suggestion and some advice..... Also, you should think about going away during the summer's like to summer intensives. Like Kirov, ABT, Bolshoi, Joffrey, Miami, etc. Hope this helps! =)
