She has been timid and I have made sure I give them both equal attention but my husky growls at her every time she comes close to her. What should I do?

Aggression in any form is serious and needs to be dealt with immediately to prevent escalation. Interdog aggression is a fairly common problem in dogs. It often starts when a new dog enters the house or at the time the second dog reaches maturity (1-3 years of age). Aggression towards people is unacceptable. Talk your your veterinarian for advice and recommendation of behaviorists/trainers in your area. Having a behaviorist work with you and the dogs in their environment is very beneficial. Your veterinarian needs to be part of the team in case behavior medications are needed.
You need to be pro-active with this problem. Do not wait until the Husky harms the puppy or bites you.

You need to make it clear that you are top dog in your home and become the leader of the pack. No yelling or hitting is necessary. When she growls at you or the puppy make a loud noise to distract her like a clap or a squeak. Then turn to your side slowly making no eye contact with her and cross your arms. Remain calm and be relaxed while you do this she will be able to senes any tension. She should loose interest in you and when she does slowly walk away. Be sure to reward good behavior. As for now keep her away from the other dog when you aren't home or are unable to supervise!
