What Does STOP Stand For?

S.T.O.P is the abbreviated form of Safe Tables our Priority. It is a non-profit grass roots organisation in the United States. This organization was formed with a purpose of assisting food poisoned victims and spread the message of public health and advocates safe food and public health. It believes that many people die due to pathogenic food borne diseases caused by contaminated food in the United States.

This organization has several objectives like providing information and provides services to victims ailing from food borne diseases. It helps people trough its website and hotline. It also has the objective of spreading awareness of the causes and effects of these disease caused by food and the various ways to prevent them. S.T.O.P. enlists the help of media and public education to fulfil this objective. This organization also seeks to reform the government and industry practices that cause contamination of food and result in food poisoning. Thus it inspects various procedures like food service handling, preparation techniques, packaging and transportation.
