Where Is The Tai National Park?

    The Tai National Park is on the Ivory Coast in Africa and is an impressive region of dense and humid evergreen forest. Its location is about 200 km south of Man, between the Cavally and Sassandra Rivers.

    The climate iin Tai is variable with a high relative humidity. Rainfall is high and ranges between 1700 mm in the north to 2200 mm in the south. The dry season extends between December and February but there is no real winter. The temperature averages 26 degrees Celsius over the whole year.

    The park is home to many species of endangered animals including the duiker, a small antelope with a hunched back and short, thin legs. The duiker species found at Tai include Ogilby's duiker, the yellow backed duiker and Jentink's duiker.

    Carnivores in the park include leopards and golden cats. There are also various monkeys such as the white nosed and Diana monkeys, chimpanzees and sooty mangabeys.
