    If Someone Has Perintinitis From A Perforated Sigmoid Diverticulum ,Is It Treatable Or Fatal?

    My mother died of it with very little nhs help from doctors and ambulance service alike'

    In peritonitis, time is of the essence.  I have heard of persons who got medical help immediately recovering, but they were in the minority.  Most folks who have it die from it.  It is often associated with a ruptured appendix.

      I am not a medical person but I have a friend who was in danger of getting into a similar condition. I think it is very serious but I have great faith in the medical profession and I think they could save the person, especially at a teaching hospital.
      A local hospital that had never treated the condition would have less chance of success.
