James MacAvoy is a handsome young Scottish actor, he was born 1979 and trained the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. He starred in Channel 4's Shameless before winning roles as Joe Macbeth in the BBC's production of Shakespeare Retold - Macbeth.
His recent film roles include The Last King of Scotland, The Chronicles of Narnia, Wimbledon, Bright Young Things, Inside I'm Dancing and the award winning State of Play.
In 2006 he won a special achievement BAFTA.
