    Calcium is basically a chemical element which is by nature soft gray and alkaline earth metal. It is considered as the fifth most abundant element by mass in the crust of the Earth. It is an important element for life on earth.

    Calcium is one of the oldest discovered elements around the world. It was known and used by Ancient Romans as early as the first century. They prepared lime as calcium oxide. However, it was first isolated in the year 1808 by Sir Humphry Davy in England.
