I would like to refer to, or call my new baby boy "little one" in Italian. I would like the phrase to possibly be his nick name.

The translation for the English phrase "little one" in Italian  is "Piccolo Uno " .This is a more literal translation .You can also use " Piccolo bambino" which is a little baby.

      "piccolino", and "piccino" work

The guy who answered bellow me is not italian. You would never refer to anything as "piccolo uno"
