The county of West Yorkshire, England is the area where you can find the Town of Sowerby Bridge. It is located approximately three miles from Halifax and serves as the junction the Rochdale canal and the Calder and Hebble Navigation.

One of the prime attractions of this place is the festival of Rushbearing. It's a ceremony of taking rushes to cover the floor of churches throughout winter. Though the ceremony is quite old, it still takes place here in the first weekend of September.

The town has also have the distinction of being the place where Pollit and Wigzell Ltd, the lead manufacturers stationary steam engines had their base. The engines were used in the Cotton and wool mills of Lancashire and Yorkshire. The engines were also exported to be used in the Indian mills.
