Power Steering Pump Or Rack And Pinion? How Can I Tell Which One Is Bad?
No power steering in my 98 Grand AM. It was like this when I bought it so don't know the history. No whining or squealing sounds and no leaks. Reservoir looks a little over full and fluid is kind of black, not red.

Your power steering will be the problem hear. If it was your rack and pinion you wouldn't be able to turn at all
