Acupuncture is derived from the Latin where 'acus' means needle and 'pungere' means to prick. In standard mandarin it is known as 'zhen jiu' or needle therapy. Acupuncture involves inserting needles into acupuncture points on the body to restore health, general well being and treating pain. The world health organization has defined and standardized these points.

Acupuncture considers the body to be a system of functions which are associated to each other and more or less to the organs of the body. It maintains that when any of these systems are out of tune or lose their balance of yin and yang, the human body suffers the consequences. Acupuncture seeks to correct this balance by stimulation using pins inserted in the corresponding points. Acupuncture points are located along the twelve main or eight extra meridians located throughout the body. The movement of qi (vital energy) through each of these twelve main channels comprises the internal and external pathways of the body. Acupuncture seeks to restore the proper flow of qi through these bodies in order to insure sound health and well being.

It is the only thing that helps my nerve pain!

The needles are so thin they flex like a fishing rod, and they don't hurt much a all.

      I love it!
