How To Discipline A 4 Year Old?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

It is all about promoting positive behaviour. Every time your little one does something good, reward him/her. Maybe get a sticker chart.
But never take the rewards away afterwards. That would have a negative effect and then the sticker chart would loose its efficiency.
I believe that discipline is working well when I ignore it. I tell the child of for what it done wrong and then ignore it. That is only possible if the little bugger doesn't destroy anything of course :)
Think the last answer is very good, our frustration rubs of and the children can see it and play on it too. So take a deep breath when it gets all too much and take time out yourself.

BEAT THEM..lol..Not like that. Spank them, but only after time out doesnt work. You have to remember the mood that you are in rubs off on your children. That means staying calm helps. No Yelling!!!!!!!! I have a 3 yr old...its work but you will get through it. And remember to spank only for discipline, not out of your own frustration.

      But thats just me...
