Where Does Regent's Canal Run To?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The Regent Canal, built in early 19th century, is located in London with a slight north central positioning, running from west to east of London. The Regent's Canal is a part of the Grand Union Canal, which links London to many other canal networks across Britain. It joins the Paddington arm of the Grand Union Canal, to the River Thames and Limehouse Basin. This canal is decorated with numerous pubs and water side eating places which is a great tourist attraction.

After travelling a short distance north of Paddington basin, this canal joins with the old Grand Junction Canal at Little Venice. Thereafter it passes through the Maida Hill and Lisson Grove tunnels and flows through the London Zoo. It then flows through Camden Town and King's Cross Central. After this it continues its journey eastwards and goes beyond the Islington tunnel, flows near the Broadway Market and meets the Hertford Union Canal which is located adjacent to the Victoria Park. Further east, it joins the Limehouse Basin from where the River Thames begins.
