Can You Help With Multiple Dwelling Problems?

I live in a multiple dwelling only 2 apts. My neighbor ordered fuel oil for apt#1 and first fuel put it in my tank by mistake and now says i owe for the bill, multiple dwelling law says it is the landlords responsibility to provide fuel, the girl in #1 is a minor, the fuel co provides no metered receipt. He is using the law unjust enrichment to try to make me pay him. I was ill in and out of hosp i couldn't walk and, how was i to get it out i had another delivery already.

Get at least one more opinion but I might tell the company to sue me. They need to prove that you ordered the fuel. Beware, if they want to they can mess with your credit rating, reporting you to a collection agency. All of this can be fought and you could win but it could ultimately cost you money to fight. If I was the judge I would make you pay when you would eventually need the fuel. So you could defer the payment until next heating season. Maybe you should talk to the company and try to get the fuel discounted and pay monthly, then you would be in good shape for winter.
