How Is Asperger's Contracted?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Asperger's cannot be "contracted". It's a neurobiological condition that person is born with. Asperger's is part of autism spectrum disorders. In the DSM-IV, the medical guide from which such conditions are diagnosed, it falls under the umbrella term of Pervasive Developmental Disorders. The others in this group are Autistic Disorder,  Pervasive Developmental Disorder Not Otherwise Specified, Rett's Syndrome, and Childhood Disintegrative Disorder. The latter two are different though in that they are disintegrative disorders where the child becomes progressively worse.
