    If a cassette is jammed inside the tape recorder, do not try to force it open as you may damage the entire tape deck. Try to see if you can fast forward it and then rewind it which may help in some cases. If the recorder has an auto-eject option and is running on batteries then there must not be enough power left for ejection.

    One may have to unscrew the exterior and remove the tape desk assembly if nothing else works to see if anything is out of alignment; either way it would be a good idea to take the deck to the repair shop.
