    The average of a set of observations is equal to the ratio of sum of observations to the total number of observations.

    average= sum of observations/ total number of observations

    sum of observations= average x total number of observations

    S= A x N

    S= 12 x 6

    S= 72

    So, the sum of six numbers is 72.
