What Do You Call A Motorway Or Highway In The Eighteenth Century?

Answer Question

There weren't motorways, but some were called highways back then, it was a new term then I believe. You can't quote me on this though. Just barely remember hearing this I think in social studies when I was in school. I remember because the teacher was really cool. Hope this helps at least a little.
