Is York In Scotland Or Glasgow?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

York is in neither Scotland or Glasgow but is actually in Yorkshire, England and is the capital of Yorkshire, a county in England.  Glasgow is actually situated in Scotland so if it were in Glasgow it would be in Scotland.
York has been a lively city since Viking times, when the vikings raided York repeatedly.  It also has a rather spectacular cathedral and currently enjoys a reputation as a tourist destination.
It has many good hotels, some excellent shopping facilities and there are even cultural things to do such as visiting the Jorvik museum.
In addition York is graced with a good university which brings a cultural richness to the city.  The best time to go is early in spring, when it is not too busy and the hotel rates are not too exorbitant.
