OK, I think that in this particular situation, you are asking about MSN Messenger, as opposed to the MSN company itself, the MSN Internet Service Provider or the MSN network/website.

MSN Messenger is an application that is part of the family of applications known as "Instant Messengers".  If you download MSN Messenger (it's also worth noting here that this is it's old name - it now goes by the name "Windows Live Messenger") and install it to your PC, it enables you to talk to other users instantly, using either text or voice (and, if you have one, webcams!).

You don't need a new email address, you can just use your existing one.  Just go here:

    Passport Website

and scroll down until you see where it says "Use an e-mail address you already have" and click on the "Get started now" link *below* that.  Fill in all the details (you can use the same password that you use for your email.  Basically what you are doing is using the email address that you already have, as a username for a different site) and once you're finished you'll probably have to go to your email and click on the activation link to confirm that is your real email address!

Once all that's done, and you've downloaded the programme, you  can now log in to Messenger (though in short, go to the Start menu in Windows (that button the bottom left that, confusingly if you're using Vista, no longer has the word Start on it) and look for "Windows Live Messenger", click on it, and tap in your email address and password.  Feel free to let it remember you, and remember your password, unless you are using a public computer.

Hope that this helps.  If you need to know anything else, or if I've not been clear enough, just comment and I will do what I can to help you!
