It is definitely a good idea to save early for Christmas as it cuts out a lot of stress throughout the year. Some people even buy their Christmas presents for the next year in the January sales!

Generally putting a little money aside each month is recommended, whether it is £10 or £50 – whatever you can afford. It is estimated that the average person in the UK spends around £600 for Christmas and usually they do not start saving while around October time which can be extremely stressful! Just think that is just less than 3 months to save £600! That is how many people end up in debt. As for how to stop the temptation of spending the money, try and put it into a savings account online. That way you will not see the money in your account and you cannot draw it out at an ATM. It is all about will power and knowing that you will be well prepared for Christmas!

Open a Christmas Club Account at your Bank. These sort of accounts will only allow you to withdraw from 1st November. So make a serious saving plan now and watch your money GROW!
