What Causes Hurricanes And Where Do They Normally Occur?

Hurricanes are severe tropical storms that cause devastating winds speeds, torrential rain and violent waves. They occur when damp, moist air over the North Atlantic, North East Pacific or the South Pacific Ocean rises and condenses. This can under the right conditions set up cyclonic system.

In areas affected by hurricanes, there are hurricane seasons. The Atlantic season, for instance, is from June 1 to November 30. But for most people hurricanes typically are confined to the autumn months.
