Where In America Is Little Rock?

Little Rock is the name of the capital of the state of Arkansas in southern United States; it is the largest city in the state and is situated on the banks of the Arkansas River in the central part of the state. The name of the city comes from a landmark rock formation on the banks of the Arkansas known as La Petite Roche in French which was translated to Little Rock.

The city is the county center of Pulaski County and is known for its many museums prominent among which are the William J. Clinton Presidential Center, Historic Arkansas Museum, Arkansas Museum of Discovery and MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History. The city is also noted for its health care facilities with the health sector being one of the most important in the state economy employing about 9000 people. The city of North Little Rock is situated across the Arkansas River from Little Rock.
