As a child, she felt as if she was an ugly girl because of her big ears. At age 11, she even had her ears surgically pinned back. However, all that changed when she was a teenager. She went to modeling school at age 15.

Her first big modeling job was the cover of the Brazilian Elle magazine. During her modeling career, she modeled for Guess and Victoria Secrets. She is now the main spokes person for Victoria Secrets' Pink line. She also did some modeling for the Revlon Company; and she also modeled for a UK company called Next.

One of her signature modeling pieces is her pierced navel. She is one of the first Victoria Secrets models to have gotten a navel piercing. She also has double pierced ears and also has a tattoo on her lower left back.

In addition to modeling, Alessandra Ambrosio also enjoys playing the piano and singing. She is a model with musical talent.
