Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Charismatic church refers to a church formed by believers of the Charismatic movements. Charismatic movement was started by Christians who believe in the manifestations of the Holy Spirit witnessed during the 1st century regarding healing; miracles, prophecy and glossolalia are accessible to present-day Christians and should be experienced and practiced in the current times. These followers of the charismatic movement were known as charismatic Christians.

These people are often confused with Pentecost but it is not so and there are some basic differences which distinguish the members of the charismatic church from the Pentecost. The word charismatic is an umbrella term and is derived from the Greek word charismata which mean gifts of the spirit when translated into English. This term originated in the 1960s and has been in existence since then. A charismatic church is of a more independent nature and non-denominational with more emphasis on spirituality than on conventional tradition.
