Like most of the other books by Jan and Stanley Berenstain, this book also conveys a message that improves children behaviour. Their previous book "The Berenstain Bears and Too Much Junk Food", conveys good eating habits. "The Berenstain Bears and the Truth" explains the importance of telling the truth. Their book "The Berenstain Bear and Too much TV" reveals the effects of TV and ways to stay away from TV. Likewise this book "The Berenstain Bears, Bed Time Battle" explains about the habit related to the time when children go to bed.

In this book, sister bear and brother bear tries to delay bed –time and play with dinosaurs, dolls and Dummy tea parties. If possible, they also try to play piggy back ride with the papa bear. Noticing this, the mama bear puts her efforts to improve their bed-time habits. After reading this book, most children may improve their bed time habits.
