There isn't any you can buy over the counter the only way you can buy heartworm prevention is by scheduling an appointment at the vet's office and having your dog checked for heartworms and then you can buy it. But there are a number of different brands to use, my mom, being a vet, uses mostly Intercepter or Tri-Heart, but one of the most common brands is Heartguard.
