What Do You Use Instead Of Alcohol In Recipes?

Answer Question

I have had success in changing out alcohol for other mixers. Ginger Ale, Lemon-Lime Soda, Club Soda or Tonic Water, depending on the recipe.

    Enjoy.

Instead of alcohol you can use something else but again it depends on the recipe. It is very essential that you find the right substitute. Try and take suggestions from your friends and cooks in and around you.

You also have plenty of websites that can recommend you a substitution for alcohol in every recipe. You can possibly substitute it for some kind of fruit juices. Another option is to change the recipe a little by not using alcohol but trying making it either more spicy or bland.

If you are referring to recipes like rum cake and you don't want to use real rum you can use rum extract.  Rum extract is concentrated so you would use less than the amount of rum the recipe called for.

In most recipes, the alcohol is baked out and it is the flavor that is being used so I am not sure why you would want to eliminate it. Of course, if a person is adding to much, then there is the possibility that some alcohol may still be in there but I would imagine that those people are wanting to drink to get drunk anyway.

Depends on the recipe.  You can use rum extract, fruit juices, ciders and flavored jello liquid.

Depends on what you're making. Maybe vinegar. Olive oil.
