    How Do I Tell If The Power Supply Is Bad?

    The Sony XBR is quite old. When i turned it off, it started making a clicking sound, and has not stopped until I remove the powere cord from the outlet. Thanks,

    Yes the power supply is bad. It is not working properly. The possible reason is that some IC is damaged which is preventing it to shut down. You have to repair the power supply to make it functional in a good way.
