A National Monopoly would be a service that would be owned most likely by the government of the business. A monopoly means that there is no other entity that can provide the good or services. The US Post Office in a sense could be described as a National Monopoly. Utilities companies are considered monopoly as there is usually only one source that it can be purchased from and they are governed and regulated by the State that they are located.
