How Does Reflexology Make You Feel?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

If you have ticklish feet, or are particularly sensitive to having your feet touched, as some people are, reflexology is probably not a pleasant experience. The reflexologist uses a foot reflexology chart to rub areas of the soles of the feet to stimulate healing in related parts of the body.

Various trials have been done to assess the effects on the body and the subjects of these trials have been questioned about how reflexology made them feel. Many said it made them feel a lot more relaxed and generally better. They often felt sleepy and yawned during the treatment, or actually fell asleep. This sleep is encouraged by the reflexologist as a healing therapy.

Sometimes, the foot massage will produce tingling in different parts of the body and sometimes more negative feelings – tireness, sickness, headaches, general aches. The reflexologist explains this effect as being caused by the release of toxins by the treatment. Once these toxins have been dealt with, the body then starts to feel better and most people report that they do not last more than a few hours.
