There is a process known as an oil cap which softens the color resistant gray hair, but it has to be done by a professional.
The other other advice I can give you is to use L'Oreal creme color formulated to cover gray hair.
It works very well on my resistant grays, but without seeing and feeling the texture of your gray, I can not say that it will work for you. If the grays are not coarse and wiry, then there is a very good chance that it will cover your gray.
You may have to go to a local beauty supply store to purchase it if you can't find it in the store.
If you purchase it from a beauty supply store, be sure to buy a 20 volume (creme) developer top mix with it. Directions for mixing are (on) the inside of the box. Just cut the box open once you remove the tube of hair color from it.
