HCG or human chorionic gonadotrophin is usually produced after 11 days of conception and can be detected after 12-14 days in urine. Its major function is to develop placenta and nourish fertilized egg. A level below 5 means no pregnancy. HCG levels continue to double after every 48-72 hours. Its levels 4 weeks after last periods and 2 weeks after conception can vary from 50-100.
