Shopping opinion or Opinion Shopping is a word used by External Auditors. This word came into use after the Enron and Arthur Anderson scandals. It refers to auditees who contract or reject auditors simply on the basis of the type of opinion report they issue to the auditee. It refers to auditors that are contracted by auditees such that their audit opinions will be based on the auditees needs and they will be compensated by huge audit fees.
